Summer is in full swing, and women and girls alike, are shining with a variety of hairstyles to show off the season. Creative hairstyles such as the aptly named, goddess and butterfly braids are all the rage! Looking good is on any woman's wishlist, as attested by salons that are always busy with the odd retouch or a whole new hair rebrand. If all the latest trends have left you possibly too informed...worry not. We've compiled a list of hair care trends you should be aware of.

As retailers continue to find innovative ways of supplying a variety of their products, Zimbabwe has seen a rise in colourful braids and weaves. 2021 has been a year to try something new with a surge in blonde hairstyles. Blonde braids and lace front wigs have dominated and the trend doesn’t stop there.

Hairdressers are mixing blondes, tans, greys and whites to create blended colours, making each braiding style uniquely individual. Skin tones are no longer a stopper for anyone. Whether you’re dark or light, blonde braids are for you. Don’t shy away from the change if you are a girl who’s always tried black or brown, - blonde might just pleasantly surprise you.

This year, hairdressers and hairstylists have come up with creative methods to spice up the classic bob or fishtail braids. Goddess braids and butterfly braids are popular this season, making women look good. Who said braids and curls couldn't coexist? Goddess braids are crotched or plaited braids with delicate curls. This technique may be applied to short box braids as well as lengthy braids. Cornrows can be added to this look by attaching a curly weave piece to the back. To diversify bob hairstyles, curls are blended with them.

Butterfly braids are the newest hairstyle trend. These braids are box braids with butterfly looking strands protruding from their sides. This style is used on short and long box braids, and it is a great alternative to regular braids for getting these stunning fashionable trends.

Braided cornrows have shined from 2019 until now. Cornrows are becoming more popular, with new styles and techniques to make them more appealing and fascinating. Ladies are getting cornrows with long braids that reach their knees to make a statement. Beads, delicate curls, or a splash of colour are all interesting ways to style up cornrows. Color is being used this summer, with ombre braids to experiment with and innovative techniques to combine braids to create distinct colours.

Wigs are all the rage, especially those of pedigree, with women splurging on Peruvian, Brazilian, and Indian hair. It costs money to look nice, and Zimbabwean women are ready to spend it on quality. Salons are continuously producing wigs, ranging from ear to ear frontals to 360 closures. Women are trying out new ways to bond their wigs and melt that lace using weave glue sprays, as well as products to preserve these kinds of hair.

Wig producers have improved the realistic appearance of wigs throughout time, and the ladies love it! This summer, the girls are not holding back with wigs ranging from 10 inch bobs to 26 inch long wigs of various sorts. Wigs with color are increasingly popular, with more ladies sporting platinum blonde wigs and even orange tones. Purchase a high-quality wig and you'll be set for years.
