Edgars Hospital Cash Plan Testimonial- Fiona Chirimuminda

20 August 2014

On 12th July, a traffic accident took place in the Shawasha Hills area, involving a loyal Edgars customer who was travelling to a wedding in Highlands by bus with other passengers from her church. This unfortunate accident resulted in many injuries and fatalities.

The incident occurred after the driver of the bus discovered a police roadblock and, in order to avoid it, change route and drove the bus into the hills. He then made the unfortunate decision to drive the bus in neutral down a hill with a curved road, and he subsequently lost control of the vehicle. Mrs Chirimuminda was hospitalised for 6 weeks after suffering broken ribs and a broken pelvis in the accident.
After her hospitalisation, a son of a friend was able to inform Mrs Chirimuminda's branch of her hospitalisation. Edgars Marketing Executive, Rumbie Dzimba, visited her in her home with Edgars staff. Having financial cover through the Hospital Cash Plan was an enormous help in removing the burden of paying for Mrs Chirimuminda's hospitalisation. Regarding the skepticism about the product from those who already have medical aid cover, she emphasised the benefits of the Hospital Cash Plan. "We had medical aid but we experienced difficulties and were informed my entire hospitalisation would not be covered. By the end of my stay I had to pay cash for my hospital bills," she explained. She further thanked Edgars for supporting its customers in their time of need and in this valuable way. Mrs Chirimuminda received $2 940 covering her entire hospitalisation period, as well as $200 to ease the loss of income she experienced during her hospitalisation.

We wish Mrs Chirimuminda a speedy recovery as she continues to heal at home, and we are thankful to be able to support our customers in this way.
